Drama

Drama is taught to all years. The emphasis is on learning basic performance skills and developing the children's self-confidence through mime, improvisation, games, and devised sketches and, occasionally, scripted performance.

Cross-curricular events involving the whole year group include plays, poetry and sketches. Each year group puts on a major production. A balance is kept between musical and non-musical plays.

There is also plenty of opportunity for informal drama as there are Variety Shows for the Middle and Upper School.

School is so much more than reading, writing and arithmetic. Drama provides a way for children to discover they can make a contribution. It empowers them and raises their self-esteem. Drama also lets children put their own individual stamp on what they are good at.
